Goods seized in Sunamganj, Sylhet borders

SUNAMGANJ, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-48 Battalion in separate drives seized smuggled goods worth over Taka 2.7 crore from different frontier areas in Sunamganj and Sylhet districts this morning.

On a tip-off, a BGB team conducted the drives in Banglabazar and Sreepur border areas in Sunamganj and Sonarhat, Sangram, Pratappur, Panthumai, Tamabil, Noakot, Kalasadek, Karairag and Patharqwari in Sylhet district and seized the smuggled goods, said Hafizur Rahman, commander of Sylhet BGB-48 Battalion.

The smuggled goods are huge quantities of Indian pomegranates, oranges, sugar, Nivea Soft Cream, Ring Guard, Pond's Bright Beauty Face wash, Pond's Bright Beauty Cream, Roop-G Cream, Betnovate-C Cream, Fashion Herbs Gold Bleach Cream, sunglasses, chocolate, eyeball candy, Gillette blades, winter blankets, and horn fish and a boat used to extract stones illegally from Bangladesh.
