TANGAIL, Feb 4, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 35 physically-challenged people were given free wheelchairs and white canes in the district today.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharifa Haque distributed the wheelchairs and white canes as the chief guest at a function held at the Disability Services and Assistance Center in Taltola area of the district town.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun presided over the program.

Assistant Director of the local social services office Mahbub ul Alam, Medical Officer of the District Civil Surgeon's Office Dr. Nure Alam Tahmid and Disability Affairs Officer of the District Disability Services and Assistance Center Md. Nurul Islam, among others, were present.
