Anti-drug essay competition, seminar held in Magura

MAGURA, Feb 4, 2025 (BSS) - With the slogan "Let's Change the Country, Let's
Change the World" an anti-drug essay competition, seminar and prize
distribution ceremony were held today at the hall room of Magura Adarsha
College.

Md. Nasir Uddin, deputy director of the Department of Narcotics Control,
Magura was present at the event as the chief guest.

The chief guest said drugs not only destroy an individual, it ruins their
families and society also. Students should be aware of the consequences of
drugs and help others to be aware as well. To build a new Bangladesh, we must
create a drug-free society.

He also informed the students about the government's initiatives and measures
against drug abuse.

Shyamal Kumar Biswas, principal of Magura Adarsha College, emphasized the
importance of student involvement in anti-drug activities. He said such
competitions and awareness seminars play a vital role in guiding students on
the right path.

The event was also attended by officials from the Department of Narcotics
Control, faculty members of the college, members of the Rover Scouts, and
students from different classes of the college.

At the end of the event, prizes were distributed among the winners of the
competition. The organisers expressed their commitment to continuing such
awareness programmes in future.
