Brick kiln owner fined TK one lakh in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 4, 2025 (BSS)- A brick kiln at Demsa college road area under Satkhania upazila was fined Taka one lakh today during a joint mobile court operation of the district administration and the Department of Environment. 

The operation, led by Satkania Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), executive magistrate Farista Karim realized fine Taka one lakh from Md Ismail owner of GBM brick field in the said area aimed at cracking down on illegal brick manufacturing activities violating the environmental regulations. 

“Since the allegations were found to be true, the mobile court realized fine Taka one lakh under the relevant section of the Balumahal and Soil Management Act, 2010,” he said. 

The operation was assisted by the Department of Environment officials, staff of the Upazila AC Land Office and police of Satkania Police Station.
