Two held with fake Indian rupees in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Feb 4, 2025 (BSS) – Police today arrested two people with over 13.75 Lakh fake Indian rupees in Manda upazila of the district.

The arrestees are identified as Siddique Hossain Molla, 45, son of Mujibar Molla, of Gopalpur Bazar area of Manda upazila of the district and Kariappa Chowdhury, 55, a resident of Mahadevpur upazila sadar of the district.

Manda Circle Senior Assistant Police Superintendent Zakirul Islam confirmed the matter in a press briefing held at Manda Police Station.

He said the duo was nabbed from a tea stall at Gopalpur Bazar of the upazila this afternoon and 13 lakh 75 thousand fake Indian rupees were recovered from their possession.

Process of taking legal action against the arrestees was underway.
