Awareness stressed to ensure food safety for healthy nation

Bagerhat, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a seminar today emphasized the need to raise awareness about safe food production, processing, and marketing practices, urging all stakeholders to remain vigilant in ensuring food safety to build a healthy nation.

They also highlighted five essential keys to keeping food safe and healthy, maintaining cleanliness, separating raw and cooked foods, using proper cooking methods, storing food at safe temperatures, and utilizing safe water along with food ingredients.

The speakers shared their insights while addressing the seminar on safe food at the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office here, marking the 8th National Food Safety Day-2025.

With the theme "Khaddo Hok Nirapod, Sustho Thakuk Janagan" (Food Should be Safe, People Should be Healthy), the seminar was presided over by District Food Safety Officer Shamim Ahmed.

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, and Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Department Shankar Kumar Majumder, among others, attended the event.
