Firearms, ammo recovered from graveyard in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) - Joint forces recovered two pistols, a magazine, and two sharp weapons in an abandoned condition from a graveyard in Gangachara upazila here on Wednesday night.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team of joint forces led by Lieutenant Colonel Masud conducted a drive at a graveyard adjacent to the Rangpur-Gangachara road in the Araji Niyamat Moulvibazar area of the upazila and recovered the firearms, ammunition, and sharp weapons," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangachara Model Police Station Al Emran told BSS this afternoon.

The recovered weapons are currently in the custody of Gangachara Model Police Station.

A general diary has been lodged in this connection, the OC said, adding that an investigation is underway.
