5-day youth gathering begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Feb 7, 2025 (BSS)- A five-day youth conference began here as part
of Tarunner Fair-2025 with the commitment of building a new prosperous
Bangladesh.

District administration and the Department of Youth Development (DYD) jointly
organised the youth gathering at Satellite Town High School Playground.

Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Tarafder Akter Jameel addressed
the opening ceremony as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Afiya
Akhter was in the chair on Thursday afternoon.

Additional Deputy Commissioners Zobayer Hossain, Umme Kulsum Shampa and
Tuktuk Talukder, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Shabnam
Shirin and Deputy Director of the DYD ATM Golam Mahbub also spoke on the
occasion.

Various products of different entrepreneurs were on display in 60 stalls of
the fair that will continue from 4 pm to 9 pm every day until February 10.

On the occasion, Akter Jameel said the youths from the age of 15 to 35 are
one-third of the country's total population meaning that 5.30 crore and
utmost emphasis should be given on transforming them into a working force for
overall development of the county.

He said youths are the most energetic, active and reactive parts of the
society and the gathering will inspire them to the nation-building process
enormously.
