Two killed in Sunamganj road crash

SUNAMGANJ, Feb 8, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Ahsanmara Bridge area under Shgantiganj upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Jamir Hossain, 35, son of Golap Mia and Ali Noor, 40, son of Firoz Ali, resident of Durlavpur village in Sunamganj Sadar upazila.

The accident took place on the Sunamganj-Sylhet road when a bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw around 7 am, leaving five passengers injured, Officer-in-Charge of Joykal Highway Police Abdur Rashid Sarkar told BSS.

Critically injured Jamir and Ali Noor were rushed to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
