CHATTOGRAM, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS)- A devastating fire gutted five shops in 
Kazirhat Bazar area under Fatikchhari upazila of the district early today.

Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) Officer of Fatikchhari upazila Kamal 
Uddin Chowdhury said the fire broke out from an electric short-circuit at a 
shop around 5:30 am and quickly engulfed the adjacent shops.

Being informed, two firefighting units from Fatikchhari Fire Station rushed 
to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control around 7.25am, the 
sources added.
 
The FSCD official said the extent of damages in the fire is approximately 
Taka 14 lakh. 

Earlier on February 5, 2025, 11 shops were also gutted in a fire in the area.
