NOAKHALI, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) -Two school students were killed and another person injured in a road accident on Islamia road under Sadar upazila here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Ashma Begum, 6, daughter of Saddam Hossen hailed from village Naijjer Vangti and M Arafat, 5, son of Abul Kalam hailed from Faridabad village of the same union. Both were class two student of a local Quality Education School.

Local people said, Abul Kalam was taking his son Arafat and his brother in law's daughter Ashma to school on a bicycle when a Natunhat bound truck hit them infront of Bhuiyan Bari near Baikunthupur bazaar around 8.30 am, killing the two children on the spot.

Critically injured Abul Kalam rescued by the local people  and admitted to the 250-bed Noakhali general Hospital.

Police have seized the truck but its driver managed to flee, said Officer in Charge (OC) of Sudharam Model Police Station Kamrul Islam.
