Ekushey Book Fair inaugurated in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Feb, 12, 2025 (BSS) - A 10-day Youth Fair and Ekushey Book Fair were inaugurated in
Satkhira on Wednesday, (February 12) marking the Youth Festival.

The fair, with the slogan ”Esho Desh Bodlai, Prithibi Bodlai’’ (Come change the country, change the world) was inaugurated by Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mostaq Ahmed at Shaheed Abdur Razzak Park at 11 am.

Satkhira Police Superintendent Md. Monirul Islam Monir, Satkhira Government College Principal Professor Abul Hashem, Satkhira Government Women's College Principal Professor Basudeb Basu, Additional Deputy Commissioners Bishnupada Pal  (general )  and Ripon Biswas (ICT), NDC Palash Ahmed, District Information Officer Md. Jaharul Islam Tuttle, Cultural Officer Faiza Hossain Anbesha, and various administrative officials were present at the inauguration.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mostaq Ahmed said, “UNESCO recognized 21 February as International Mother Tongue Day around the world. As Bengalis, we must cherish this day in our heart.”

Afterwards, the dignitaries visited the book fair. Mostaq Ahmed urged local writers, poets, and literary figures to participate in the fair.
