Drug peddler held in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) – Members of Bangladesh Army and Chandpur Sadar Model police station in a joint drive arrested a drug peddler with 10 kilograms (kg) of ganja in the district today.

The arrestee was identified as Md Abul Hossain, 45, son of Ayees  Uddin of Tatikanda village in Rajur police station of Madaripur district.

Acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted a joint drive on the bus stand area of Chandpur city this afternoon and detained him with 10 kgs of ganja from his possession.

Lieutenant Jabid Hasan, Operational Officer of Chandpur Army Camp, confirmed the arrest and said, "The arrestee and the seized drugs have been handed over to police for legal action."

He also added that the joint operation, which aims to recover illegal weapons, apprehend terrorists, and arrest drug peddlers, has been continuing in Chandpur district since September 4, last year.
