Man held with 27-kg ganja in Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged drug trader with 27 kilograms of contraband ganja from village Changra under Rajpur union in Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district on Sunday night.

 "On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 searched a potato-laden pickup van there, seized the huge quantity of smuggled ganja and arrested the man from the spot at 9:10 pm," said a press release issued here today.
 
The arrested person was identified as Md Abdur Rahim, 50, son of Md Chabir Uddin of village Teesta Pangatari under Sadar upazila in Lalmonirhat district.

"The elite force handed over the arrested person to Lalmonirhat Sadar police station for further legal action," the release added.
