10 shops gutted in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - At least 10 shops were gutted in a fire at Barobazar under Kaliganj upazila of the district early this morning.

Being informed, fire service personnel from Kaliganj Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected businessmen, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Fire Service Station.

The fire originated from a restaurant in the area and after the fire broke out, the gas cylinder of the restaurant exploded, causing the fire to spread rapidly. 

The cause of the fire and the total extent of the damage will be known after the investigation, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station Shahidul Islam Howlader.
