‘Students should practice of sports regularly along with studies’

RANGPUR, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - Students should regularly practice sports and exercise along with studies to become physically stronger and mentally sound to flourish their latent talents, potentials and abilities.  
 
Executive Engineer of the Education Engineering Department (EED), Rangpur Md Mehedi Iqbal said this while addressing the prize giving ceremony of the annual sports competition- 2025 held at Salema Girls’ High School ground in the city on Monday as the chief guest. 
 
He also urged the young students to glorify the nation through achieving success in sports, education and other extracurricular activities to prepare them for building a new Bangladesh in the spirit of the July uprising.   
 
Headmaster of the reputed educational institution Md Mokbul Hossain presided over the function. 
 
Member of the school's founding family and former president of the school managing committee Shah Mohammad Selim, District Training Coordinator Tultuli Rani and former headmistress of the school Mrs. Gulnahar Begum were present as special guests. 
 
The students of the school displayed impressive displays and sports skills at the event. 
 
About three hundred competitors participated in 29 events in the sports competitions. 
 
At the end of the event, the guests distributed prizes among the winners.
