Fire razes 12-bigha betel leaf garden in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) – A fire burnt around 12 bighas of betel leaf
garden to ashes at Mostabapur in Kaliganj upazila of the district today.

According to local residents and eyewitness, the fire started at a betel leaf garden
next to Mostabapur Combined Secondary School around 10.30 am and soon
engulfed the adjacent areas.

Being informed, firefighters from Kaliganj Fire Station rushed to the spot and
doused the blaze. However, the origin of the fire is not known, said Kaliganj Fire
Service Station Officer Rabiul Islam said
