Eight martyrs' families get Tk 16 lakh in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - The local administration provided financial assistance amounting to Taka two lakh to each of the eight families of the martyrs, who had made their supreme sacrifice during the student-led mass uprising.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Rafiqul Islam handed over the cheques to the family members at a function held at the Hallroom of the DC office as the chief guest this morning.
 
Families of Rabiul Islam alias Rahul of Bidursai village of Dinajpur Sadar upazila, Rudra Sen of Paharpur of Dinajpur town, Al-Amin Islam of Dabra village under Birganj Upazila, Ashiqur Rahman of Norhoripur village under Nawabganj Upazila, Suman Patwari of Luxmipur village under Chirirbandar Upazila,AsadulHaque Babu of Pukuria village under Biral Upazila, Ziaur Rahamn of Nagorbari village under Birol upzila and Md Masum Reza Antor of Korola village under Biral upazial of the district received the assistance from the government.
 
While talking to BSS, Omar Farooq, father of martyred Suman Patwari, said, "We appreciate the government's assistance, even though it came a bit late."
 
"We will not get back to our martyred sons . . . But we urge everyone to pray for our martyrs," the deceased father added.
 
Among others, Civil Surgeon of Dinajpur Dr Asif Ferdous, Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Noor Alam, and Additional Superintendent of Police Jinnatul Al Mamun were also present on the occasion.
