3 filling stations fined Tk 1.70 lakh in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in separate drives fined three 
fuel filling stations Taka 1,70,000 for measuring less in their Octane, 
Petrol and Diesel Dispensing Units in Mithapukur upazila of the district 
today.
 
"The Rangpur Divisional Office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing 
Institution (BSTI) and Mithapukur Upazila Administration jointly conducted 
the drives," said a press release issued by Deputy Director (Physical) and 
divisional BSTI Office Chief Mobin-Ul-Islam.
 
Mithapukur Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Bikash Chandra 
Barman led the mobile court.
 
The mobile court fined Messer's Mandal Filling Station at Shukurerhat area 
under Mithapukur upazila Taka one-lakh for measuring less in its Octane 
Dispensing Unit there.
 
The court fined Messer's Rawshan Filling Station at Moslem Bazar area in the 
same upazila Taka 50,000 for measuring less in its Petrol and Octane 
Dispensing Units there. 
 
Besides, the court fined Messer's Hasna Filling Station at Rashidpur area 
near Gorermatha under Mithapukur upazila Taka 20,000 for measuring less in 
its Octane and Diesel Dispensing Units.
 
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officer (Certification Marks) Khondker Md 
Zaminur Rahman and Inspector (Metrology) Md Almas Mia. 
 
"The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public 
interest," the release added.
