Over 2.6 lakh MTs rice imported from India thru Dinajpur Hili Land Port in five months

DINAJPUR, April 15, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 2, 67,857 metric tons of rice have been imported from India in 6,434 trucks through Hili Land Port in the district in last five months.
 
Yusuf Ali, assistant director of the Plant Quarantine Office at Dinajpur Hili Land Port Customs Department confirmed the matter.
 
He said that rice import activities from India will be stopped tomorrow (April 16).
 
According to the agreement with India, the rice import period of the country's Ministry of Commerce was valid until April 16, he said.
 
In last five months as of today, traders of the the Hili Land Port Import-Export Factors Association have been able to import 2, 67,857 metric tons of rice from India, he added.
