25 BRUR students injured in July 2024 mass uprising receive cheques, certificates

RANGPUR, April, 16, 2025 (BSS) - July Shaheed Smrity Foundation distributed certificates and cheques to 25 students of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) injured in the July-August 2024 mass uprising in the city.

The distribution programme took place at the the Syndicate Meeting Room of the university's administrative building, presiding the ceremony Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali presented the certificates and checks to the 25 injured students on Tuesday afternoon.

 On the occasion, he commended the all students of Bangladesh for their brave role including Begum Rokeya University students, in contributed to building a new Bangladesh by risking their lives in the July-August 2024 mass uprising.

"This debt of the students is not worth paying. I wish the injured students of the July Revolution a speedy recovery," he said.

 He sincerely thanked the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation for coming forward to provide medical care to the injured students in BRUR.

 He also showed gratitude to the Medical Board, including the Principal of Rangpur Medical College for providing guidance on the proper treatment of the injured students.

 Director of the Office of the Student Affairs of the university Professor Dr. Md. Ileas Pramanik presided over the function.

 The event was chaired by July Shaheed Smrity Foundation Verification Head Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid, BRUR Registrar Dr. Md. Harun-or Rashid, Proctor Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of BRUR Medical Center Dr. A. M. Shahriar.
