NOAKHALI, April 18, 2025 (BSS) - At least nine shops including grocery and tea stalls were burnt to ashes in Uttar Bazar at Amisha Para union of Sonaimuri upazila here early today.
On information, two units of Sonaimuri Fire Service Station and Chowmuhani Fire Service Station rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after three hours of efforts.
Eyewitnesses said most of the shops in the market were closed at around 1:00am. Shortly after, a fire broke out in a shop and quickly spread to the nearby shops.
The fire is primarily suspected to be originated from an electric short circuit, according Shahadat Hossen, team leader of Sonaimuri Fire Service Station.
