SHARIATPUR, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh National Social Welfare Council today distributed donation cheques among 39 social welfare organisations of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Tahsina Begum handed over the cheques of Taka 9 lakh 36 thousand among the welfare organizations for their social activities at a function at Deputy Commissioner Conference room this morning.

District Social Services Department and the district administration organised the programme.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Imrul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Sharif Uz Zaman, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services Biswajit Baidya, Dr. Kaiser Ahmed and representatives of social welfare organizations from different upazilas of the district were present.

Also, a decision was taken at the programme to rehabilitate all the beggars in the district.
