2 alleged extortionists held in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested two persons from the Khalishpur Bastuhara area in the city today for allegedly demanding extortion money from a trader.

The arrestees were identified as Abdullah, son of Murad Ali, and Ashik, son of Azmol, both from the Bagmara area in the city.

Locals said they detained and handed them over to police around 9:30am.

Md Murad Hossain Milon, Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Khalishpur Police Station, said the arrestees went to the Bastuhara area today and demanded a large amount of money from a local TCB dealer.

Upon being informed, police went to the spot and detained the duo, he said, adding that legal procedures will begin after filing a case.
