Two restaurants fined in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram City Corporation's mobile court fined two restaurants Tk 30,000 for cooking food in unhygienic conditions, using chemical colors and flavors, and encroaching sidewalks with their products.

CCC Executive Magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya led a drive on Tuesday and fined Jalalabad Hotel and Restaurant Tk 20,000 and Degchi Bari Restaurant on K.C. Dey Road Tk 10,000 for cooking food in unhygienic conditions, using chemical colors and flavours. They were also fined for occupying the sidewalks with their products.

According to CCC Public Relations Officer Aziz Ahmed, the bakeries were found operating in unhygienic conditions using substandard ingredients, reusing burnt oil, and selling expired food products. 

The City Corporation conducts these drives regularly to ensure food safety and will continue to do so in future for public welfare.
