ACC arrests 7 brokers in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Oct 14, 2025(BSS)- The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) today conducted a raid in Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex in the district and arrested seven alleged brokers for their alleged involvement in commission business at different laboratories and diagnostic centres in the upazila.

The arrested brokers are-- Al Mamun Badsha, 25, Rezaul Islam Gazi, 42, Sagor Hossain Rony, 20, Milon Kumar Ghosh, 18, Achinta Kumar Baiddya, 44, Prosenjit Kumar Mondal, 31, and Marjina Khatun, 60.

The ACC team awarded three days jail to Al Mamun Badsha, Rezaul Islam Gazi, Sagor Hossain Rony and Milon Kumar Ghosh while the rest were fined.

The team was led by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Land of Shyamnagar and Executive Magistrate Rashed Hussain and Assistant Director of the ACC Khulna Integrated District Office Md Zahid Fazal.

The team initially found some evidence that a section of doctors and staff of the hospital used to refer the patients to some specific laboratories and diagnostic centres instead of commission.

The team will send a report on this drive to the ACC Headquarters soon.
