RMP imposes ban centering RUCSU election

RAJSHAHI, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has imposed 
a ban for proper, neutral and successful completion of the election to 
Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU), 17 Hall Councils and five 
students representatives to the senate.

A notice signed by RMP Commissioner Muhammad Abu Sufian here today said the 
ban will remain in place from 12midnight on October 15 to 12midnight on 
October 17 to keep the law and order normal.

As per the decision, all sorts of processions, meetings, gathering, 
agitation, use of loudspeaker and blasting of crackers have been banned 
within 200 yards surrounding the campus.

Simultaneously, possessing and carrying of arms, knife, gun, and explosives 
have totally been banned.

The notice also warned that legal action will be taken against those who will 
be found guilty.

It also urged the teachers, students and other public in general to abide by 
the order so that the student body election is held peacefully and 
successfully.
