Rangpur people protest Israeli aggression, genocide in Gaza

RANGPUR, April 18, 2025 (BSS) - Thousands of people today brought out protest marches in Rangpur city to protest the Israeli aggression and genocide in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and demanding an immediate end to the massacre.

After Friday's Juma prayers from 2 pm onwards, huge protest processions were taken out from different areas in Rangpur city by the initiatives of devotees coming from various madrasas and mosques in Rangpur metropolis, upazilas and districts.
 
The processions circled important roads and ended at the Press Club premises and Shapla Square at huge protest rallies respectively. 

The people from the processions expressed solidarity with the Palestinians and demanded an immediate end to the genocide. 

They said Gaza has been reduced to rubble by Israeli aggression. Israel is continuing the most brutal genocide against the Palestinians by shutting down all services, including food and medical care. 

At this time, slogans such as 'Why Palestine is Attacked, We Want Answers from The UN', 'Who Are You And Who Am I, Palestine is Palestine', 'Free Free Palestine' were chanted from the procession.

Many participants in the procession were seen carrying placards with writings such as 'Save Gaza, Save Humanity', 'To Stand with Palestine is to Stand with Humanity', 'Stop Genocide in Gaza', 'Stop Zionist Terror'. 

At the Press Club premises rally, Al Jamia As Salafia Madrasa Principal Hedayetullah Hadi and Assistant Teacher Abu Taher, Jamiyat-e-Ahle Hadis Rangpur District Secretary Abdul Malek, Jamiat-e-Shubban-e-Ahle Hadis Rangpur District Secretary Abu Raihan Siddiqui, Mohammadia Madrasa Teacher Abu Bakar Noorani, among others, spoke.

Later, the protest rally held at Shapla Square was addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Working Committee member and former Ameer of Rangpur Metropolitan Committee Professor Mahbubar Rahman Belal, and former councillor of Ward 21 Mahbubar Rahman Manju, among others.

Speakers at these rallies called on everyone to unite against Israeli aggression, an artificial state supported by Western powers, including the United States.

They said the Israeli aggression has reduced Gaza to rubble and protests are being expressed every day in the country or the other countries around the world against this genocide. 
The speakers said people of Bangladesh do not understand why the Islamic States and the OIC are silent on the incidents in Gaza, Palestine. Now is the time for them to come forward and protect Gaza. 

The Israeli forces are committing genocide indiscriminately. 

Principal Hedayetullah Hadi, "We must unite against this genocide. We want the world to take united action to stop this genocide and Israel to be brought to justice under international law for its highest human rights violations."
