BAGERHAT, April 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 31 kilograms of venison along with deer skulls and limbs during a raid near Joymonirghol Silo Jetty in Mongla upazila yesterday.

The meat and remains-believed to have been poached from the Sundarbans-were found in an abandoned sack during an operation by the Harbaria Station team, said Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque.

He said the poachers fled the scene upon detecting the presence of the Coast Guard.

The seized items were later handed over to the Chandpai Range Forest Office for legal action, he added.
