RANGPUR, April 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an abductor and rescued a kidnapped teenage girl of Lalmonirhat from Ashulia police station area in Dhaka on Friday evening.
 
"The arrested abductor is Md Masud Mia, 20, Village Purbo Jagotber under Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat district," said a press release issued here today.  

Earliar, The arrested accused with his accomplices forcibly kidnapped the victim teenage girl from Kochuarpar Bazar area under the same upazila at around 7:45 am on February 3, 2025.

Subsequently, the victim's father filed a case in this connection with Patgram police station.
 
Later, the elite force enhanced intelligence activities and confirmed the location of the abductor in the Ashulia police station area of Dhaka district.
 
On a tip-off, the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 and RAB-4's Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 at Savar in a joint raid arrested accused Masud from the Ashulia police station area and rescued the victim at 7:00 pm on Friday.
 
The arrested accused along with the victim have been handed over to Patgram police station of Lalmonirhat district, the release added.
