KISHOREGANJ, April 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Pure Food Court today imposed fines totaling Tk 4 lakh on four business establishments in Sadar upazila for violating food safety regulations, including the use of harmful food colors and selling products without proper registration and packaging.

The mobile court, led by Senior Judicial Magistrate Ariful Islam, conducted a summary trial and handed down the penalties following a series of inspections carried out in coordination with the Safe Food Office.

According to officials, Nayan Ghosh's shop in the Batrish area was fined Tk 1 lakh for producing and selling curdled milk without registration and proper packaging. Sani Bakery received a fine of Tk 1 lakh for using harmful food colors in its products.

Additionally, Lokkhi Narayan Mishtanna Bhandar and Jagat Lokkhi Mishtanna Bhandar, both located in the Ekrampur area, were each fined Tk 1 lakh for operating under unhygienic conditions and selling yogurt without appropriate packaging.

During the raids, expired food items were also discovered in several bakeries. These items were immediately seized and destroyed to prevent public health risks.
