Indian fireworks worth Tk 5.9 million seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian fireworks worth Tk 5.9 million from the Bibir Bazar border area under Adarsh Sadar upazila in the district.

Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) Captain Lt. Col Mir Ali Azaj confirmed the seizure today.

Acting on a tip-off, a special patrol team conducted a drive early this morning and recovered 298,200 pieces of illegal Indian fireworks from the Chanpur area, about four kilometers inside the Bangladesh border from the zero line.

The legal process is underway in this regard and the seized goods will be deposited at customs as per rules.
