SATKHIRA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - A minor girl drowned in a pond at Kheshra village under Tala upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased was Srija Das, 3, daughter of Shyam Kumar Das of the village.

The girl was playing near the pond adjacent to their house and when she accidently slipped into it and drowned around 1.30 pm, family sources said.

After a long search, the child's relatives found her body floating in the pond and recovered it.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Police Station Sheikh Shahinur Rahman confirmed the incident.
