TANGAIL, April 27, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed last night in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the Madhupur municipal area on the Tangail-Jamalpur highway under Madhupur upazila of the district.

One of the deceased was identified as Helal Uddin, 55, son of late Hatem Ali, a resident of Charbhatkura village in Dhanbari upazila of the district.

Police said the accident took place at midnight, when the two vehicles collided head-on, leaving CNG driver dead on the spot and its passenger injured, said Manjurul Haque, duty officer of Madhupur Police Station.

The injured was taken to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case is under process in this connection.
