KURIGRAM, April 27, 2025 (BSS) - A Nor'wester [Kalbaisakhi storm] in different upazilas across the district caused extensive damage to crops, houses and other properties.

The nor'wester lashed different upazilas last night, uprooting numerous trees and electric poles and damaging dwelling houses along with cutting off power supply.

Paddy fields on numerous acres of land were damaged by the sudden gust of wind, however, the exact damage caused by storm could not be known immediately.

The storm also shattered the window glass on the 6th floor of Kurigram General Hospital, in addition to damaging the patients' wards.
