LAKSHMIPUR, April 27, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed this afternoon in a lightning strike in the Charfolkon area under Kamalnagar upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Shahnaj Begum, 55, wife of Faruk Hawlader, a resident of Charfalkon area of the upazila.

Shahnaj was struck by lightning while picking mangoes during the rain. She died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalnagar Police Station Md. Touhidul Islam confirmed the matter.
