2-day fish festival at CVASU begins on Tuesday

CHATTOGRAM, April 27, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences
University (CVASU) is going to organise a two-day long `Fish Festival-2025' from
Tuesday.

The mega event is going to be held at the varsity campus in the city on
occasion of celebrating a decade of founding anniversary of Fisheries Faculty
of the university.

The festival is being organized by the Faculty of Fisheries of CVASU in
collaboration with the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation (BSFF).

A total of 96 institutions from home and abroad along with 26 universities of
the country will participate in the event to showcase their products and
research outcomes on wide areas on discipline of fisheries.

The main features of the festival include convening of international
scientific conference, showcasing stall-based products and innovations and a
job fair.

Convener of CVASU Fish Festival-2025 Organizing Committee and Dean of Faculty
of Fisheries, Professor Dr Sheikh Ahmad Al Nahid, said a total of 550
teachers, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and
representatives from 95 institutions and 26 universities involved in the
fisheries sector will take part in the event.

Scientists and researchers from various universities and research
institutions at home and abroad will present 350 research papers while
Professor Dr Md Abdul Wahab will present the keynote paper at the scientific
conference, a CVASU press release said.

Bangladesh University Grants Commission Member Professor Dr Masuma Habib will
attend as the chief guest at the opening ceremony while Fisheries and
Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar is expected to attend as the chief guest at
closing ceremony.
