Two killed in separate incidents in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - Two people were killed in separate incidents in Sadar and Shyamnagar upazilas of the district today.

The deceased are Naeem Hasan, 18, a second-year honors student of Satkhira Government College and son of Shahidul Islam of Kakdanga village under Keragachi union of Kalaroa upazila and Fazlur Rahman, 55, a lecturer of Dargahpur NDS Madrasa in Shyamnagar upazila and son of Lutfar Rahman of Taranpur village under Ramjannagar union of Shyamnagar upazila.

Naeem Hasan was killed when a goods-laden truck hit his motorbike in Agardari area of Sadar upazila this morning, said Md. Shaminul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station.

Madrasa teacher Fazlur died after being electrocuted at Taranpur village of Shyamnagar upazila this morning.

He came in contact with a live electric wire around 8 am while he was watering the wall of his house using a water pump, said Md. Humayun Kabir Mollah, Officer-in-Charge of Shyamnagar Police Station.
