Rice price declines by TK 6-10 per kg

KUSHTIA, April 29, 2025 (BSS) - The prices of different kinds of rice have declined by Taka 6 to 10 per kilogram in the district.
 
Rice traders said that the prices of rice have been falling a little every day for a week due to harvesting of new Boro paddy.
 
Prices will drop further when new rice arrives in the market within a week, they mentioned.
 
The mill owners said that harvesting of new Boro has started and they have also started buying.
 
At the same time, the price of rice has also started to decrease, they added.
 
At different markets of the district, per kilogram of Basmati rice is now being sold at Taka 88 which was sold at Taka 92 a week ago while Miniket rice is being sold at Taka 80 which was at Taka 86.
