Ensuring human rights for underprivileged people underscored

GAIBANDHA, April 29, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a function here today 
underscored the need to ensure human rights for all backward and 
underprivileged people to build a welfare society post-humanitarian state. 

"The CSO Hub is formed with 17 civil society organisations (CSO) here to help 
push forward the district towards desired development side by side with 
conducting awareness activity to the people about their human rights and 
welfare," they also said. 

They made the comments while addressing an inaugural ceremony of CSO Hub at 
the auditorium of Sinnomul Mohila Samity (SMS) of the town here this morning. 

Presided over by Executive Director of SMS Murshidur Rahman Khan, the 
programme was arranged under the project of Supporting the Unity and 
Sustainability of Civil Society organisations to Uphold Human rights, 
National Integrity and Rule of Law in Bangladesh being implemented by Action 
Aid in partnership with SKS Foundation with the financial support of European 
Union (EU). 

Sadar Upazila Social Services Officer Nasir Uddin Shah addressed the ceremony 
as the chief guest on behalf of Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Al-Hasan 
and Monitoring Officer of Action Aid Anjan Kumar spoke at the event and 
answered to the questions raised by the participants. 

The executive chiefs of 17 CSOs took part in the open discussion and adopted 
strategies on how to make the activities and objectives of CSO Hub effective 
and fruitful here in the days to come.

Later, the executive and advisory committee of the CSO Hub was formed for the 
term of one year unanimously. 

All executive chiefs of 17 CSOs, invited persons, lawyers and journalists 
attended the function.
