Ice cream factory fined in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, April 29, 2025 (BSS) - An ice cream factory in the district was fined Taka 20,000 during a drive for producing ice-cream in dirty and unhygienic conditions, using another company's packaging and mixing harmful colors. 

Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department's district office Abdullah Al Imran led the drive in the Biponibag Mominpara area of the district today.

The factory, named Freshco Ice cream, pledged to refrain from such irregularities in the future, said Abdullah Al Imran, adding that harmful chemical substances found at the spot were destroyed. 

Such operations will continue in the public interest, he added.
