Two to die for killing man in Bogura

BOGURA, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two people to 
death and another to three-year jail in a case lodged over the killing of an 
auto-rickshaw driver in Sadar upazila in 2020.

Judge of Additional Sessions Judge Court-2 Md. Abu Hanif pronounced the 
verdict around 11.15 am in presence of the convicted persons, said Court 
Inspector Mosaddek Hossain.

The death-sentenced convicts are Abdul Hannan, son of late Jamir Uddin of 
Chhota Kumira area in Sadar upazila and Rashed Khan, son of Dulu Khan of the 
same area.

Nurunnabi Munna of Nayapara area under Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur district 
was given a three-year rigorous imprisonment.

According to prosecution, Piyal, son of Mohidul Islam Khoka of Nishindara 
Madhyapara in Bogura town, went missing on March 21, 2020 with his auto-
rickshaw. Later on March 28, his decomposed body was found in the graveyard 
of Hindupara in Bora Kumira of the town. 

After identifying the body, his father filed a murder case with Sadar Police 
Station. 

Later, police arrested Rashed and Hannan and they confessed to the murder. 
After their confessional statement, police arrested rickshaw buyer Nurunnabi 
Munna.

The judge after examining evidence found the convicts guilty and handed down 
the punishment.
