Elderly man electrocuted in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly man died after being electrocuted 
in a fox trap at Sannyasirtala of Narikelbari under Ulipur upazila of the 
district today.

The deceased was Abdul Hakim, 60, a resident of the same area.

Hakim set up an electric trap in his jute field to protect the jute plants 
from foxes. This morning he accidentally got electrocuted while checking the 
jute field without disconnecting the electric line. 

Later, a local resident saw him lying down and took him to the Upazila Health 
Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station Zillur Rahman confirmed the 
matter.
