SSC examinee drowns in Naogaon

NAOGAON, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - An examinee of Secondary School Certificate 
(SSC) drowned in the river Atrai in Patnitala upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Wazed Ali, 17, son of Abdul Sharif, a resident of Chakchandi 
village under Dhamairhat upazila of the district.

"After finishing his practical exam, Wazed went to the river with his friends 
for taking bath around 2 pm. They boarded a boat and reached the middle of 
the river. Suddenly the boat sank and Wazed didn't know how to swim and 
drowned," said Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patnitala 
Police Station.

He was rescued from the water and taken to the Patnitala Upazila Health 
Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

He grew up and studied in his maternal grandfather's house. Wazed was an SSC 
examinee of Patnitala High School.
