KUSHTIA, May 1, 2025 (BSS) - A man reportedly died after being electrocuted at a substation Taragunia under Daulatpur upazila of the district last night. 

The identity of the deceased could not be known as of filing the report. 
 
Upon receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body lying inside the substation this morning. 

According to law enforcers, the man may have been part of a gang trying to steal wire from a transformer inside the substation. He suffered fatal electrocution, while the others managed to flee.

The deceased had visible burn injuries on his hands and feet. 

Monowar Rahman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Daulatpur Police Station, said the body of the deceased was sent to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy, and an investigation is underway.
