CHANDPUR, May 7, 2025 (BSS) - Two children drowned in ponds in two unions under Faridganj upazila of the district today.

Minor boy Abdullah, 02, son of M Rubel, drowned in a pond around 11 am at Solodana village under Gupti Paschim union of the upazila.

In another incident, a two-year-old boy Mahafuj slipped into a pond near their house at Sahebganj village under Rupsha Dakshin Union of the upazila and drowned at noon while he was playing beside it.

Mahafuj is the son of Qatar expatriate Mahabub of the village.

Dr. Parvez Ahmed, a doctor of Faridganj Upazila Health Complex, said the two children died long before they were brought to the hospital.

Faridganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Md. Shah Alam confirmed the matter.
