RANGPUR, May 9, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders and activists of anti-discrimination student movement, BNP, NCP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan and other organizations have taken out a massive protest march demanding ban on Awami League politics and speedy trial of Sheikh Hasina and her associates.
The protest march started from the DC Intersection area of Rangpur city after the Juma prayers today.
The procession circled various roads and gathered at a massive protest rally on the main road in front of the Civil Surgeon's office and Rangpur Zilla School.
During the protest, anti-discrimination student movement Rangpur district convener Imran Ahmed (Chand), National Citizen Party (NCP) central member Abul Muneem, its joint chief organizer Sadia Farzana Dina and organizers Sheikh Rezwan and Alamgir Nayan, Rangpur Metropolitan Jamaat secretary KM Anwarul Haque Kajol, Rangpur Metropolitan Islami Andolan metropolitan secretary Amiruzzaman Piyal, its leader Nahid Hasan Khandaker, Metropolitan Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal senior joint convener Jahir Alam Nayan, Islami Chhatra Shibir metropolitan secretary Anisur Rahman, Gono Odhikar Parishad central leader Hanif Khan Sajib, Rangpur Metropolitan Swechchhasebak Dal senior joint convener Mahbubul Haque Suman and other leaders spoke.
During the protest rally, the speakers said that Awami League has killed thousands of people to remain in power permanently and smuggled out billions of Taka abroad.
Terrorists of Awami League and its associated bodies have indiscriminately attacked, shot and killed hundreds of revolutionary students and innocent people throughout the country in the July-August Revolution.
The speakers demanded that the fascist Awami League should not be allowed to do politics in any way, and that the Awami League be banned immediately without any further delay.
Imran Ahmed said that the Awami League must be banned because the fascist political party has not only committed crimes against humanity by killing hundreds of students, youth and innocent people, but has also subjugated the nation and is hatching one conspiracy after another against the country and the people.
Hundreds of leaders and activists of NCP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Gono Odhikar Parishad, anti-discrimination student movement, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Islami Chhatra Shibir and other organisations participated in the protest march and rally.
