THAKURGAON, May 10, 2025, (BSS) -- A human chain were formed in Thakurgaon demanding trial of the Awami League and ban on its political activities. 

The demonstration, organized by July Fighters and families of those injured or killed, took place at noon today at Thakurgaon Chourasta. Participants carried banners and festoons, accusing the AL of human rights violations and oppression.

Speakers at the Human chain said over the past 15 years, the Awami League has disregarded the rights and voices of the people, committing widespread oppression and injustice. They particularly accused the party of carrying out mass killings during the July Uprising last year. 

The demonstrators called for an immediate ban on the Awami League and demanded that those responsible be held accountable through a judicial process.
