Goats distributed among fishermen in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - Black Bengal goats have been distributed among 50 marginal fishermen in the district under the Fisheries Resources Development Project in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region.

District fisheries officer Adhir Chandra Das handed over the goats to the fishermen at a function held at the Sadar Upazila Fisheries Office this morning.

Presided over by Sadar upazila senior fisheries officer Sheikh Md. Ershad Bin Shaheed, the function was attended, among others, by veterinary surgeon Sarwar Hamid, Jibtali union parishad chairman Sudatta Karbari, Balukhali union parishad member Biplob Tripura, National Fishermen's Association president Helal Uddin Nana and its general secretary Deepak Chakma.

With these 50 goats, a total of 200 Black Bengal goats were distributed among 50 fishermen in Sadar upazila. Each fisherman was provided with four goats.
