Two held with 11,000 pcs Yaba in Sylhet

SYLHET, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested two individuals along with 11, 000 pieces of Yaba tablets in Companiganj upazila early today. 

The arrestees were identified as Rahmat Ali, 45, son of the late Arza Ali from Parua Lamapara in the upazila and Isaac Ali, 45, son of Syed Ali. 
Both have allegedly been involved in drug trade in the area for a long time.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Companiganj Police Station Ujayer Mahmud Al Adnan confirmed the matter.

Acting on a tip-off, Companiganj Police team conducted a raid and nabbed the individuals, said Police. 

During the raid, including 11,000 Yaba tablets, two kilograms of Ganja and eight rolls of foil paper used for Yaba consumption were recovered.

A case in this regard was filed against the arrested individuals under the Narcotics Control Act in Companiganj Police Station, the OC said.
